Harassment, Intimidation & Bullying Policy

On January 5, 2011 the Governor signed into law the “Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act.”  This new law required significant revisions to the Harassment, Intimidation, and Bullying (HIB) Policy and Regulation Guide.  The requirements of the Act take effect for the 2011-2012 school year.  The Act required the Commissioner of Education to adopt amendments to its model policy guidance and the New Jersey Department of Education (DOE) released an initial version of a Model Policy and Guidance on March 22, 2011 and an updated version on April 11, 2011.

The most recent revision to the HIB policy and regulation guide for the District in effect for September 1, 2011 can be viewed by clicking the links on the bottom of this page.   The State of New Jersey will continue to issue updates throughout the school year.   As the board approves these revisions, this site will be updated.   To report an instance of harassment, intimidation, or bullying to the district, please use the link below.
