Welcome to the Eastampton Township School District
The Eastampton Township School District, comprised of approximately 600 students, is situated in suburban Eastampton, near the county seat of Mount Holly in the heart of Burlington County. Eastampton Community School is a Kindergarten through 8th grade district located at 1 Student Drive. Our school day begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m. All of our teachers are Highly Qualified and many possess advance degrees.
Our state of the art school completed a massive construction project in 2007 which facilitated Eastampton Township School District in meeting the needs of our 21st century learners. To match the beauty of our building, the Board of Education allocated funds to equip Eastampton with the latest technology which enables our teachers to actively engage our diverse school population in meeting the Common Core and New Jersey Curriculum Content Standards. In fact, we have 630 computers, tablets, laptops, and Macs for our 600 students to use at anytime throughout our academic day.
In 2012, the Eastampton Board of Education approved and funded the construction of our pre-engineering classroom where our students are educated in Science, Technology, engineering and Math (STEM) concepts and skills. We partnered with Project Lead the Way (PLTW) to offer Gateway to Technology (GTT). GTT is a hands-on, project-based engineering program that engages students on multiple levels, exposing them to areas of study that they typically do not pursue, and providing them with a foundation and proven path to college and career success.
In addition, Eastampton has partnered with Project Lead the Way and Rowan University to offer courses for teacher certification at our school. Eastampton was honored to be the first middle school and only the third public school in the nation to be selected for this opportunity. All other courses are taught at the university level. We had teachers from across the nation taking these courses at our school.
The District curriculum is aligned with the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards and is focused on meeting the challenges of No Child Left Behind (NCLB). A comprehensive education in all core content areas is provided for all students. In addition, special subject offerings for pupils include technology, art, vocal music, instrumental music, world languages, media skills, study skills, and health and physical education. Through character education initiatives (which include peer mediation, peer tutoring, anti-bullying, and equity programs), the District is preparing students to be responsible and respectful citizens.
The Eastampton Township School District is committed to ongoing and expanded professional development opportunities for all staff.
