WASH YOUR HANDS
Washing your hands is the #1 most important things you can do to stop the spread of germs and stay healthy.
- WET your hands with clean, running water (warm or cold). You can turn off the water until rinsing.
- Apply SOAP to your hands. Don’t wash away that soap until after you scrub!
- SCRUB your hands by rubbing them together with the soap. Be sure to scrub the palms, backs of your hands, between your fingers, under your nails, and even your wrists. Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds. Need a timer? Hum the “ABC” or “Happy Birthday” song from beginning to end.
- RINSE your hands well under clean, running water.
- DRY your hands using a clean towel or air dry them. Put the towel in the trash.

COVER YOUR COUGH/SNEEZE
From an uncovered sneeze, millions of germs can travel faster than a car (100 mph), across the whole room (30 feet). Cover your mouth before the germs get out. Do not cough into your hand. Use a tissue, or your elbow, and then wash your hands.
KEEP TISSUES HANDY
Use them when you sneeze, cough, cry, wipe your eyes, or blow your nose. Then throw the tissue away safely, and wash your hands.
DON’T TOUCH YOUR FACE
Germs can make you sick by getting in through your eyes, nose, and mouth.
- Do not rub your eyes.
- Do not pick your nose.
- Do not bite your fingernails.
- Do not put your fingers in your mouth, even for those wiggly baby teeth.
- Do not put pencils or other objects in your mouth.
DO NOT SHARE DRINK, FOOD . . . etc.

- Lollipop
- Lip Balm
- Spoon or Fork
