    Practice printing these Memorial Day words: stripe, flag, red, white, blue, wave, pole, line and Monday. After you write the words, sort them by vowel sound. Which words have the long “Ii” sound, what other vowel sounds do you hear?  

     

    “Patriotic Writing” Use patriotic colors to write your two new sight words five times each! (Play, Has)

    Memorial Day is a day we honor our country's heroes! Write a thank you card to someone who you think is a hero!

    Look at an American flag. How many stars does it have? How many stars are white? How many stripes does it have? How many stripes are red? How many stripes are white?
