In my kindergarten classroom I make sure to have a 30 minute time slot dedicated to inquiry based learning. We cover many cross curricular lessons in the classroom, but I also like to dedicate each week to a specific Science or Social Studies topic. Students will explore the Next Generation Science Standards, as well as national holidays during this time. These lessons include many hands on activities that challenge the students to use planning, problem solving, and collaboration skills!
