    Students will learn the following:parts of a book:cover, the title page, the spine and spine label, where to locate the author and illustrator on the book cover and title page.


    Students will attend the library each week during their "specials" time. Each week, after music and movement we will begin a featured read aloud. Students will listen to and follow along with the text of a picture book. The text and pictures will be projected onto a white board using a document camera. This will provide the students with an an opportunity to "interact" with the text and pictures.

    Throughout the year:

    • We will work on recalling the sequence of story                                                          
    • Relating text to self.
    • Relating text to the world around us.
    • Relating text to text.
